#1 Mingus Top #2 Sunnyslope

Very rarely does Week 1 of the high school football season look like a state championship game. That was the case Friday when the two top teams in Class 4A Division II met.

Cottonwood Minguas entered the game against Phoenix Sunnyslope as the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the state, and neither team disappointed with top-ranked Mingus holding off Sunnyslope 26-24.
