Two-time defending Class 5A Division I state champ Chandler Hamilton will be put to the test on August 21st when it faces nationally-ranked and defending Nevada Class 4A champ Bishop Gorman in the fifth annual Sollenberger Classic at Northern Arizona University.

It's the third straight year that the Sollenberger Classic has featured champs from Arizona and Nevada.  Arizona has won the first two match-ups with Peoria Centennial beating McQueen 51-20; Bishop Gorman lost to Brophy Prep 16-6.

“We are excited to continue the relationship with the NIAAA and their staff for the third straight year,” AIA Executive Director Harold Slemmer said.  “Both schools are coming off very successful seasons, and are poised to defend their respective championships.”

“The NIAA is appreciative and excited to again be included in the prestigious Sollenberger Classic,” said Eddie Bonine, Executive Director of the NIAA. “The last two years have provided fantastic opportunities, both on and off the field, for a couple of our top football teams. The AIA staff does a tremendous job making our Nevada participants feel welcomed and putting on this first‐class event.”

MaxPreps.com ranked Bishop Gorman #23 in its pre-season Top 25 of "early contenders".

The game will be broadcast on www.aia365.com.
