Chaparral Loses to Bishop Gorman in Sollenberger Classic

Bishop Gorman (Nevada) started the season in a big way Saturday night with a solid 42-22 win over Chaparral in a battle of nationally-ranked teams at the Sollenberger Classic at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Gaels were led by Shaq Powell who scored six touchdowns while rushing for 303 yards on 28 carries. Powell also catch three passes for 34 yards.

Bishop Gorman entered the game ranked #10 in MaxPreps.com's Preseason Top 25 Poll, while Chaparral was ranked #24.
